They are soft and comfortable, and still feel great after a few months of use.
I ended up with the king fitted sheet with the subtle ivory vertical stripe, which I chose solely because it was on sale. As it happens, I am very grateful for the stripes, because it makes it easy to tell which end is which on a king sheet, which is maddeningly close to square... but not quite. No more "you have to redo it because you put it on sideways" for me!

I have a subscription to Consumer Reports, and those guys are usually NEVER wrong. I looked and these sheets were rated number 2 (the #1 sheets were also Wamsutta but they were discontinued, making this #1) so I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and gave them a look. They had a sample you could feel and they felt ridiculously soft and smooth. I saw the price and I admit $150 was a little more than I planned on spending, but I wanted the best for my brand new bed and brand new bedroom. I gave them a chance and I bought them. Now I have slept on every kind of sheet imaginable, from cotton, flannel, wool, etc. I put these really soft, crisp sheets on my bed and they were so heavy and durable yet soft to touch. I can't understand how a sheet that is this thread count, this weave and this quality of cotton can feel like this! I purchased this sheet after my last Wamsutta finally wore out.
I admit, I am uber-picky about the feel of my sheets and thought that this would cut it. NOT!
Both my husband and I think this feels like the a slip cover for a couch or a sail for your boat or a canvas to be stretched and painted on. You should NOT sleep on this. I washed them over and over, used baking soda, vinegar, fabric softener, everything - and nothing has worked.
It literally feels like sandpaper on your skin as you are trying to sleep.
If you want a thick, heavy, scratchy sheet - this is for you!
