At first I figured I could go cheap, so I purchased a mattress protectors that was vinyl. Unfortunately, the protector was cheap in both price and quality. Each time I moved around on the bed there was a noise of plastic rubbing, not to mention the viny trapped heat. Don't make my mistake, buy this quality mattress protector the first time around.

If you have a child with allergies (like I do) it's best to consult their allergist as to the best protection while they sleep.
This unfortunately is so flimsy and washed poorly I discarded. I think too many companies use the word "hypoallergenic" too loosely.
